We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Residential Coordinator who enjoys leading a team, supporting residents with diverse abilities, and contributing to the successful day-to-day operation of a licensed home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine leadership and administrative responsibilities with meaningful direct work with residents.
Job Summary
The Residential Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of a residence, provides ongoing supervision and support to staff, and evaluates program policies and practices to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with required standards.
The Residential Coordinator will provide strong leadership while working collaboratively with residents, families, staff, professionals, and community partners.
Please note: The Residential Coordinator also performs duties as a Residence Worker, providing direct care and support to residents as required, in addition to completing administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Program & Residence Management
- Develop, implement, and evaluate residence goals, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure required licensing, safety, and CARF standards are maintained.
- Identify physical, operational, and program needs of the residence
- Work collaboratively with staff to plan and implement changes and improvements.
Staff Supervision & Scheduling
- Schedule staff using online scheduling software.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate residence staff.
- Monitor daily operations and ensure appropriate staffing and service delivery.
- Provide guidance, training, and orientation regarding policies, procedures, reports, and other residence related matters.
On-Call Responsibilities:
- Respond to urgent resident needs and staff concerns.
- Provide appropriate direction and support when issues arise outside regular administrative hours.
Resident Support & Case Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff and families.
- Complete and maintain individual service plans, reports for residents.
- Work directly with residents and provide direct care and support as required.
Budget & Expenditures
- Monitor, authorize, and allocate expenditures within the annual operating budget.
- Prepare and maintain financial and related documentation.
Community & Family Relations
- · Liaise with residents, families, community members, officials, professionals, organization staff, and other stakeholders.
- Promote positive relationships and meaningful community involvement within the program.
- Represent the residence professionally and respectfully in the community.
Safety, Security & Maintenance
- Ensure the residence is clean, safe, secure, and properly maintained in accordance with applicable licensing standards.
- Complete these responsibilities directly or through appropriate delegation to staff.
- Follow and promote workplace, health, safety, and emergency procedures.
Direct Care Responsibilities
- Perform Residence Worker duties as required.
- Work directly with residents in care and provide support in accordance with individual needs and service plans.
- Balance direct resident support with administrative, supervisory, and coordination responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or degree in a related Human Services, Social Services, Community Services, or other relevant field.
Training & Experience
- Three (3) years of recent related experience, including at least one (1) year of Supervisory or Administrative experience.
- Experience working in a residential, community living, social services, or similar human-services environment is an asset.
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating day-to-day operations is preferred.
Other Hiring Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Emergency First Aid & CPR 'C'
- Clear Criminal Record Check, completed within the last six (6) months through the BC Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General
- Clear TB test result
- Valid legal authorization to work in Canada at the time of application
