We are looking for an RVT that has experience in the OR doing cat spay and neuter. Your role will be to help get the cats ready for surgery, monitor the cat during surgery and help with before and after care until they are picked up again by their owners. It is mandatory that you can help with anesthesia including identifying issues with sedation and monitoring. Our team will include a veterinarian, 2 vet techs and a vet assistant. We will be working a 4 x 10 hour day work week to give more work life balance. A few tasks to note that you must be comfortable performing:
1. We aim to complete all surgeries if a healthy cat is presented. This includes if the cat is pregnant we may will need to complete a late term spay.
2. We will be working with community/feral cats. All feral cats will come in appropriate traps and will be sedated in the trap. However you must be comfortable working with this type of animal.
3. We aim to be a high volume, high quality clinic. As such you need to be efficient as possible with all routine tasks.
4. We have a small clinic so you will be working closely with your team mates.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Technologist to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Clean and maintain equipment, exam rooms, and treatment areas
Experience:
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician/ technologist is preferred. Preference is given to candidate with experience with high volume spay and neuter clinics or a candidate with experience in surgery.
- Knowledge of common veterinary medications and treatments
- Familiarity with surgical preparation and assistance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners on animal care
Our RVT is very experienced and compassionate. She will be there to mentor you in the role.
