DATA/APPLICATION ANALYST – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
We are hiring a Data/Application Analyst in our Information Technology Department!
The role of the Data/Application Analyst plays an integral role in the provision of information, analysis and business intelligence and application maintenance/development to support mental health services, planning decisions, and strategy development leading to improved client care.
Are you an individual who can work with databases and flat files, use excel spreadsheets and apply analytical skills to maintain data integrity across various sources/applications, and analyze and present data in the form of reports and scorecards? If yes, then this position is for you! We are looking for a natural problem-solver who enjoys working on a variety of technical and customer applications to improve data capture (CRUD, Create Read Update and Delete), workflow processes and data-sharing. Contract, Full-time (1 Year until May 21, 2021), 35 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required

In accordance with current public health directives, training will be available remotely for staff (i.e., via teleconference and videoconferencing technologies) and work can be delivered from home. Once public health directives are lifted, the Data/Application Analyst will be working primarily in our Vaughan office (8271 Keele Street, Vaughan, ON, L4K 1Y2), however will be required to travel within York Region & South Simcoe to our other program offices, including Markham, Vaughan, Aurora and Alliston on occasion.
The Data/Application Analyst interacts cross-functionally with a variety of teams and executives within CMHA to identify process inefficiencies reporting gaps by researching tools (hardware/software), new processes and reports and provide/implement business recommendations and solutions. They are the subject matter expert on RingCentral VoIP, UCC (Unified Communication and Collaboration). S/he is expected to support the System Administrators to maintain the corporate network, hardware and software as well as support users through the ticketing system, Team viewer and face-to-face user interaction.
S/he will report to and consult with the Senior Director, Digital Strategy & Experience, interact cross-functionally with a variety of teams and executives to identify opportunities and to make business recommendations leveraging analytics techniques and tools, as well as act as a consultant on issues with respect to reporting and application best practices.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in such as Computer Science, Science, Math or related discipline
- 2+ years of relevant work experience dealing with various applications such as CRM, Active Directory, and Geographic Information Systems
- Experience using SQL to query, cleanse, integrate and aggregate data from various sources
- Knowledge of and experience with: CRM, SQL, scripting languages, business intelligence tools such as Excel, Tableau
- Second language (Cantonese, Mandarin, Farsi or Tamil, Italian, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Urdu) reflecting the local community is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Mental Health Act, mental health reform principles, the Substitute Decisions Act, the Health Care Consent Act and PHIPPA requirements.
- Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Office
- Strong Report writing experience using tools such as Crystal, MS SSRS or Actuate.
- Experience with statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS or R
- A valid Canadian Full G driver’s license, a minimum $1,000,000 third party liability insurance and proof that insurance covers use of personal vehicle to transport clients
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check)
Office work. Sitting at a desk using a computer up to 7 hours a day and communicating over the phone for periods of time.
