Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Bhangra Instructor to lead engaging dance classes that celebrate Punjabi culture and promote physical activity. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching dance, working with children, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share cultural traditions through movement while inspiring students of all ages to develop their dance skills and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Lead Bhangra dance classes for diverse age groups, including children and adults
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate traditional Bhangra steps and techniques
- Create a fun, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere for students to learn and enjoy dance
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different skill levels and learning styles
- Provide guidance on cultural significance of Bhangra and related traditions
- Assist with organizing performances or community events showcasing students’ progress
- Maintain a safe environment during all classes and activities
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching dance, especially Bhangra or similar cultural styles
- Strong ability to work with children and foster a positive classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate students
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is a plus
- Experience in classroom management and lesson planning
- Ability to incorporate fun activities that engage students physically and culturally
- Creative mindset with the ability to adapt lessons for various age groups and skill levels
- Basic understanding of cooking or cultural demonstrations related to Punjabi traditions is desirable but not required
