MCM Acoustical is a manufacturer of high-quality custom acoustical products serving commercial, industrial, and residential markets. We design and build with precision - and we’re looking for a Project Coordinator who brings that same standard to how they manage people, information, and process.
If you thrive in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, take pride in keeping projects on track, and enjoy building strong relationships across teams, this is a role where your contribution will be felt every day.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with project managers to map out timelines, budgets, and what resources are needed to get the job done.
- Keep procurement and production in the loop so materials, equipment, and labour show up when and where they're supposed to.
- Actively participate in production operations, spending the majority of working time on the production floor during the probationary period. Following successful completion of probation, continue to support production activities as required by operational needs.
- Talk to the shop floor regularly - make sure specs, drawings, and deadlines actually match what production can deliver.
- Help build and manage production schedules, and stay on top of progress so nothing sneaks up on you.
- Pull together shop drawings yourself or get them from the draftsperson - either way, they land on time.
- Handle logistics end to end: delivery windows, shipping arrangements, site-specific requirements, the works.
- Keep project documentation tight - contracts, specs, change orders, drawings, and all the correspondence in between.
- Be the person clients, contractors, and internal teams can count on for a straight answer and a timely update.
- Build and own project schedules, track milestones, and speak up early when something's off track.
- Keep an eye on quality throughout production and delivery, and flag concerns before they become problems.
- Spot risks before they escalate and help figure out what to do about them.
- Put together clear progress reports for project managers and senior leadership.
- Make sure change order requirements get communicated to the estimator and the right internal teams.
- Build the kind of client relationships that make people want to work with MCM again.
What You Bring
- Experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role – manufacturing experience is a strong plus, with construction or production environments also welcome.
- Hands-on experience working with or alongside production teams.
- The kind of organizational skills and attention to detail that makes your colleagues quietly relieved you're on the file.
- Clear, professional communication - in writing, on the phone, and in person.
- Comfort with project management tools and the Microsoft Office suite.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping anything, and to shift priorities without losing your cool.
- A team-first mindset and a genuine knack for working across departments - production, procurement, installation, you name it.
- A work ethic people can count on, and real motivation to see projects land well.
Please note this is a fully on-site position and no remote work is available.
This Role is a Great Fit If You…
- Get a kick out of coordinating moving pieces - information, production activity, logistics - and making it all click.
- Take real pride in the details, because you know that's usually where projects succeed or fall apart.
- Like working in an environment where office, production floor, and client world all overlap.
