IZUMI AQUACULTURE - GROW-OUT FARM AQUACULTURE TECHNICIAN
Izumi Aquaculture is looking to fill a position for GROW-OUT FARM AQUACULTURE Technician based on the following:
LOCATION:
· Uxbridge, Ontario
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a safe working environment
- Feeding fish as required
- Assisting with fish shipments
- Assess water levels for PH and Oxygen
- Assisting with any fish moves within the farms and sampling of the fish
- Feed Monitoring
- General fish health and husbandry
- Update software with daily data
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Continuous monitoring of fish and farm related issues
- Updated software Aqua Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- University or college degree in aquaculture or a related field (an asset but not required)
- Minimum 3 years aquaculture experience required
- Proven Communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Background in Animal Husbandry
- Ability to perform physical labour
- Open availability for all shifts
- Requires valid driver’s license and own car
GENERAL TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Hours of work are generally between 8a.m. to 5p.m. per shift. Potential on-call, evening, weekend and holiday work so the individual needs to be available on a rotational basis. Emergency situations will arise from time to time which may require on-site attendance.
