Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator specializing as a Reach Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely handling inventory through the operation of reach trucks, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and optimal warehouse organization. Duties
- Operate reach trucks to retrieve, store, and transport inventory within the warehouse, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Perform order picking tasks accurately using forklifts and order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory movements, update stock levels, and ensure data accuracy.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, including stacking and organizing products at various heights with precision.
- Use clamp trucks when necessary to move specific types of loads that require specialized handling.
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment to identify mechanical issues and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain precise stock records.
- Follow standard operating procedures for warehouse safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements related to material handling and storage.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts, particularly reach trucks, in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and inventory management practices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software for inventory control.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order processing and inventory adjustments.
- Prior experience with order picker equipment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or operating machinery throughout shifts.
