Job description
We need 1 worker to train as a Solar Panel Installation Apprentice. Very few people in Ontario have real experience in this field so we expect to train on the job as long as the applicant has a good attitude and strong technical/trade experience and skills. The apprentice would work under a Lead Technician.
Applicants need to be capable of keeping jobs moving and be SAFE on a roof.
After a few days on the job we will evaluate and determine pay.
Typical tasks include: screwing brackets to rafters on the roof, sealing and attaching aluminum solar rails, fastening electronics to rails, wiring, mounting solar panels, running hoist to lift equipment, installing animal mesh around the perimeter, picking up and delivering equipment.
Workers must have strong trade experience preferably in roofing or framing and be comfortable working on ground-mounted and roof-mounted solar arrays. Must have a vehicle and be safe on a construction site. Starting pay will be determined based on experience and on-the job training is provided. Regular wage increases are possible if the worker learns quickly. We also install Tesla Batteries.
The weather may delay projects so full-time hours may be possible but the schedule is flexible. Realistically 3-5 days a week. 30-44hrs. The work environment is fast-paced but we have fun and renewable energy work is very satisfying. Constant learning as the field grows. A skilled solar installer will never be out of work.
We are expanding rapidly and there is an opportunity to be making $25-$30/hr if the worker is fast and can become a foreman for his/her own crew.
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
