QUALITY CONTROL / PAINTER – Enviro Painting
Location: Ottawa
Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Contract/Per-Project Positions Available
Pay: Depending on Experience (DOE)
ABOUT US
Enviro Painting is a trusted residential painting company known for delivering high-quality results and outstanding customer service. We take pride in transforming homes with clean, professional work — and we're looking for a detail-oriented painter with a sharp eye for quality to join our growing team.
THE ROLE
We're looking for someone who can wear two hats: a skilled residential painter who can also serve as our quality control lead. You'll paint alongside the crew and be the final set of eyes on every job — walking through completed work, catching imperfections, and making sure every home meets our standards before we hand it back to the client. Strong communication is a must, since you'll be coordinating with crew members and speaking directly with homeowners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform quality control walkthroughs and inspections on completed and in-progress paint jobs
- Identify touch-ups, missed spots, uneven lines, and any finish issues before client walkthrough
- Communicate quality standards and feedback to crew members clearly and constructively
- Prep and paint interior and exterior residential surfaces including walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Perform surface preparation: sanding, scraping, caulking, patching, masking, and priming
- Document and photograph completed work for quality records
- Communicate with homeowners professionally during and after walkthroughs
- Help resolve any punch list items or client concerns on-site
- Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout every project
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 2 years of residential painting experience
- A strong eye for detail — you notice what others miss
- Excellent communication skills — you'll give feedback to painters and interact with clients daily
- Strong knowledge of paint types, finishes, and proper application techniques
- Ability to do quality prep work — we believe great paint jobs start with great prep
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Takes pride in holding work to a high standard without cutting corners
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)
- General handyman skills (millwork, drywall repair, mudding/taping)
- Experience with cabinet refinishing or specialty finishes
- Experience estimating or leading a crew
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive pay based on your experience and skill level
- Flexible scheduling options (full-time, part-time, or per-project)
- Consistent work with a well-established company
- A respectful, professional work environment
- Opportunities to grow into lead painter or crew supervisor roles
We look forward to hearing from you!
