About the Position
St George Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly motivated High School Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of mathematics while strengthening their problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
- Teach high school mathematics concepts clearly and effectively.
- Prepare assignments, assessments, projects, and examinations.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Use differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Incorporate appropriate technology and innovative teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and student support.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school administration.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional-development activities, and school events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of high school mathematics.
- Previous high school teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication, classroom-management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and student-centred learning environment.
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic success and personal growth.
