About the Position
Christie's Mill Waterfront Resort and Spa is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and guest-focused Events & Marketing Coordinator to join our team.
This is a dynamic role that combines guest relations, events, marketing, sales support, and resort operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple departments, interacting directly with guests and group clients, and supporting the resort's day-to-day operations.
Compensation
- Annual salary of $40,000, paid in accordance with the resort's regular payroll schedule and subject to applicable statutory deductions.
- Eligible to participate in the resort's event gratuity program upon completion of the probation period.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute weekly Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Manage the resort's social media platforms on a daily basis.
- Review and ensure all website information is accurate and up to date.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and assist with guest check-ins when Guest Services Agents are assisting guests or experiencing high call volumes.
- Welcome group clients upon arrival and provide a personalized guest experience throughout their stay.
- Conduct site visits with leisure and group guests.
- Support the Sales Team with on-site group coordination, working closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other resort departments.
- Conduct site inspections for prospective clients as required.
- Assist with walk-in group inquiries by gathering information and forwarding qualified leads to the Sales Team.
- Assist with the setup, décor, and coordination of weddings, corporate functions, and other resort events as required.
- Work collaboratively with all resort departments to ensure a personalized guest experience and successful event execution.
- Cover / assist Front Desk shifts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Hours of Work
The schedule will be determined based on operational requirements. Flexibility is required, including:
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Event days and special functions
Saturday and Sunday availability is required.The typical schedule for this position is Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Hours may vary depending on group business, scheduled events, site visits, and operational requirements. Flexibility is required, including occasional evenings, holidays, and adjusted hours to support the resort's events and group business needs.
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will be:
- 1-3 years experience in hospitality, events, guest relations, sales, or marketing is preferred.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Professional, friendly, and confident when interacting with guests and clients.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced resort environment.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple departments.
- Flexible and willing to assist wherever operationally required.
Reporting Relationship; The Events & Marketing Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and will work closely with the Sales Team and operations team on group booking coordination and event execution.
