Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20+ modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking an Engineering Co-op Student.
This is a term role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in Bachelor’s of Engineering (any discipline);
Strong time management skills;
Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal;
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook and Excel).
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Management team with tracking and reporting on project data such as work scope completion, performance, etc;
Produce cable/valve tags and equipment nameplates in accordance with customer specifications and work instructions;
Act as the back-up resource for production of equipment tags;
Provide data entry and data management support for the Project Management team as required;
Propose and participate in continuous improvement projects as appropriate.
