Our established Periodontal and Prosthodontic specialty clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our administrative team. This role is essential in guiding patients through complex treatment pathways, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and exceptional service at every stage of care.
Position Overview
The Treatment Plan Coordinator is responsible for presenting comprehensive treatment plans, reviewing financial and insurance details, coordinating multi-step specialty appointments, and supporting communication between patients, specialists, and referring dentists. The ideal candidate is confident discussing periodontal and prosthodontic procedures, highly organized, and committed to delivering a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Present periodontal and prosthodontic treatment plans clearly and professionally
· Review financial estimates, insurance coverage, and payment options with patients
· Coordinate multi-phase treatment sequences, including surgical, restorative, and follow-up appointments
· Communicate with referring dentists and maintain accurate referral documentation
· Ensure treatment plans are complete, accurate, and aligned with specialist recommendations
· Support patients with questions regarding procedures, timelines, and next steps
· Maintain accurate patient records in practice management software
· Uphold confidentiality, privacy standards, and clinic protocols
· Collaborate closely with periodontists, prosthodontists, and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications
· Previous experience in a dental office is required; specialty experience (periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery) is an asset
· Strong understanding of dental terminology, treatment sequencing, and insurance processes
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex treatment plans
· High level of professionalism, empathy, and patient-care focus
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Tracker, Cleardent, etc.)
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty environment
