Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have a passion for hospitality. This role is vital in ensuring guests have a positive first impression and a memorable dining experience. Previous restaurant or hotel experience is preferred but not required; a strong customer service mindset is essential.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, providing accurate information about the restaurant or hotel services
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints with tact and professionalism
- Assist in maintaining adherence to health and safety standards within the dining area
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality environments is preferred
- Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant POS systems such as TOAST, CLOVER POS is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Experience in hotel or restaurant settings enhances familiarity with hospitality standards but is not mandatory; training will be provided as needed
Pay: $17.20-$21.00 per hour
