Position Overview:
The Audit Manager for our Condominium Group who will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for condominium corporations. This role involves managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and mentoring a team of auditors. The ideal candidate will have expertise in condominium audits and a strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Audit Engagement Management
- Plan and oversee condominium audit engagements, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Review and approve audit working papers, financial statements, and management letters.
- Ensure all engagements are conducted in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ASNPO, CAS) and regulatory requirements.
- Address complex accounting and audit issues, providing guidance to team members.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary contact for clients within the condominium portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and providing value-added insights.
- Identify opportunities to offer additional services to existing clients.
3. Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Delegate work effectively to ensure balanced workloads and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct training sessions on condominium-specific audit and accounting topics.
4. Process Improvement
- Continuously review and improve audit processes to increase efficiency and quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in condominium regulations, and audit standards.
5. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and mitigate risks within audit engagements.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Education + Qualifications:
- Canadian CPA designation preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of audit experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience with condominium audits is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ASNPO, CAS, and applicable condominium regulations.
- Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong client relationships.
