Canada SCORES Vancouver (CSV) is a registered charity that empowers youth to find their voice, achieve their goals, and reach their full potential. Our free after-school programs combine the game of soccer, the art of poetry, and community service experiences, as well as ongoing mentorships, to inspire youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.
Job Summary:
CSV is seeking reliable, dynamic, and team-oriented Program Leaders for summer camps. Our Program Leaders are responsible for leading and implementing our summer camp for children (grades 4 to 6) in Richmond.
Main Responsibilities:
● Implement the SCORES curriculum (soccer and poetry)
● Maintain daily attendance records and timesheets
● Distribute, collect, and maintain inventory of all soccer equipment and classroom supplies issued by CSV
● Distribute and collect surveys
● Connect and support parents/guardians to ensure the success of their children
● Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Qualifications and Requirements
● Must be at least 19 years of age
● Knowledge of working with children, social and emotional learning, physical literacy, group management and
behaviour management
● Experience in planning and leading activities for groups of children in a recreational setting
● Cultural and social sensitivity that embraces multiculturalism and diversity
● Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
● Current class 5 Driver's License (preferred)
● Current criminal record check (or willing to consent)
● Current first aid certification (or willing to certify)
Hours of Work and Compensation
This is a full-time/part time contract position working weekdays Monday - Friday. The summer camp runs July 6- July 24, from 8:30am to 3:30pm and there will be 2 staff training sessions (TBA) and an onsite prep day before camp starts. The compensation is $20-$22 per hour (depending on experience). Please apply to this listing if you are interested in either the full-time or part time position.
