Length of Assignment:
The Physical Security Coordinator will be a member of the BGIS Corporate Security Services (CSS) team, and will support the physical security program in compliance with both BGIS corporate policies/contracts, and the Industrial Security Manual (ISM), in connection with the Government of Canada’s Industrial Security Program (ISP).
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Physical Security Coordinator will perform some or all of the following duties:
Supports the Regional Security Manager in all security-related aspects for NCR region;
Areas are but not limited to: personnel security, physical security, information security, assists in the implementation of recommendations from the Threat and Risk Assessments and assists where necessary with business continuity planning;
Provides guidance to internal facility and/or project management teams as required under the direction of the Regional Security Manager;
Assists in the implementation of cost saving initiatives and best practices;
Assists in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Security Awareness Program;
Attends Security Committee and Portfolio level meetings on a monthly basis;
Assists the Security Manager on special projects.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance Level II (Secret) or higher;
Knowledge of information and cyber security principles and applications;
Experience in design, implementation and/or management of large security technology projects, and;
Experience in writing formal policies, guidelines and procedures.
High school completion and specific technical training
Minimum of 3-5 years in the physical security field
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
Experience in using Microsoft Excel to analyze and present data;
Experience using C-Cure Access Control as well as Exacq CCTV Systems.
Able to calmly manage a fast-paced work environment with several ongoing high-priority tasks.
Able to process, prioritize and respond to a high-volume of e-mail communication.
Knowledge of supporting security disciplines, document control, visitor access, personnel security processing, and security processes and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences and all levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communications.
Must be dependable, responsive, customer-focused and possess the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion and initiative and perform in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Requires the ability to make sound decisions, manage time, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions.
Strong and effective leadership skills.
Working knowledge and understanding of ISO 27001 as well as other security related industry standards.
Bilingual: French and English, spoken and written
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
A certification or professional designation from an internationally-recognized body;
Certified Protection Professional (CPP);
Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation;
