United Floral Distributors is a premier wholesaler of potted plants, cut flowers, and bouquets located in Fenwick, Ontario. Since 1993, UFD has been delivering product throughout Ontario and North-Eastern United States.
Our Fleet consists of over 40 trucks and sprinters and we employ over 55 drivers. We are seeking a Dispatch and Logistics Associate to assist with routing deliveries and analyzing/ support logistic processes. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for routing deliveries and analyzing logistic processes. You will utilize your expertise in transportation management systems and data entry to ensure efficient shipping and receiving processes.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management, communication, training and ongoing development of all drivers.
- Ensure the timely delivery of products to our customers by building and organizing runs
- Work on a JIT (Just in Time) delivery system, create/adjust runs with 1-2 day timeline to plan
- Work with technology and our software to monitor logistics, analytics, reporting, and performance of the system and team.
- Responsible for shipments and for optimizing and coordinating cost-effective route planning to fulfill the needs of customers.
- Quickly resolve issues as they arise.
- Oversee pickups, attend to breakdowns, and plan efficient and timely routes
- Work with the Fleet Health and Safety Manager to maintain fleet safety and ensure all personnel operating fleet vehicles do so according to all traffic laws and company policy.
- Assist our boarder paperwork staff with any issues relating to U.S. customs and brokerage, USDA
- Schedule and prepare nightly paperwork for office staff.
- Follow and ensure compliance with company health and safety policies
- Help manage and motivate drivers, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and encourages innovation in others.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff including the scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work.
- Authorize and organize driver vacation and overtime requests.
- Support the Fleet Manager in monitoring and evaluating driver performance
- Schedule and route the drivers, attend to driver complaints
- Follow up with driver responsibilities. This includes collaborating with the Fleet Operations Manager to ensure all product is loaded on to the appropriate truck and that all product is delivered on time.
- Manage various other projects and duties as they arise and time permits
- Work with the Fleet Health and Safety Manager to address safety violations and incidents
- Provide positive driver supervision and attend to out ad-hoc issues as they arise
Work location: In office, in person
Work Schedule: The hours of this role are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Available for calls to attend to issues that arise throughout the week.
Compensation depends on the candidate and experience.

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
