Job Summary
This position is responsible for the wiring, design, programming the electrical control systems for plastic packaging machines .
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIRED:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Strong hands-on experience with PLC
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC control circuits
- Experience with sensors, servo drives and motion control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in an industrial environment (OHSA, CSA standards)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Key Responsibilities
- Controls & Automation
- Design, develop and program PLC, HMI, servo and VFD for automated manufacturing equipment and production lines.
- Modify and improve existing control systems to enhance productivity, cycle time, and equipment reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; familiarity with schematic capture is essential.
- Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Perl, MATLAB, scripting languages; experience with firmware development is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics creation, debugging hardware/software issues.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working alongside mechanical engineering teams is advantageous.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to electrical systems integration.

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
