The Plant Operator position allows you to contribute to the safe and reliable operations of the plant and ensure that planned production, quality and environmental targets are met, while reporting to the Shift Team Lead, Operations.
This position is based in Fort McMurray and is eligible for:
Relocation to Calgary, Edmonton or Fort McMurray

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations by providing appropriate field support
Communicate with a team of field operators and panel operators on a regular basis
Foster a teamwork environment by assisting in all areas as required
Demonstrate a strong understanding of equipment
Operate all equipment using the most current standard operating procedure
Utilize and contribute to the ongoing development and revisions of the training manuals and operating procedures
Provide input into plant optimization
Make decisions regarding the best use of resources to meet targets as per operational plan
Provide a safe isolation of all process equipment for maintenance activities as required
Complete shift log entries, monitor operations and submit maintenance requests
Work with engineering and process personnel to optimize safety, production, recoveries and environmental targets
Develop a clear understanding of plant process and controls
Ensure a high standard of housekeeping in your area

Typically 2-5 years’ experience in a large integrated plant site or oil sands operating facility
Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering ticket required
Grade 12 or GED is required
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Expertise in the following:
DCS Controls Systems, Raw Water and Distribution Systems
Recycle Water and Distribution Systems
Condensate Collection Systems
Gas Turbines and Auxiliaries
Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s),
Boilers and Steam Distribution Systems
Instrument and Utility Air Systems and
Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs
Previous experience commissioning new plant facilities is an asset
