Job Description:
Under the direction of the Chair, Learning and Teaching Services, Curriculum Consultant is responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students.

As part of the Academic Development department, the Learning and Teaching Services unit of Algonquin College provides curriculum leadership and support for the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of courses

across the College. Learning and Teaching Services provides educational leadership in the development and delivery of innovative and evidence-based approaches to teaching excellence and quality student learning.

Working as a member of the Learning and Teaching Services team, the Professor, Curriculum Consultant supports course development across the College through the planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation

phases.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Education or a related field of study; doctoral degree is considered an asset;
Minimum of seven (7) years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a postsecondary setting;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in course curriculum development; experience working within the Ontario Qualifications Framework an asset;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of research in pedagogy/andragogy;
Experience in working in a Teaching and Learning Centre;
Highly effective communication, presentation, facilitation and organizational skills;
Ability to participate in consultative decision-making processes;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Sound knowledge of current learning theory and practice as well as experience using a wide range of teaching and learning strategies;
Sound knowledge of curriculum theory and practice with demonstrated skill working with curriculum in a variety of delivery modes;
Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a postsecondary setting;
Excellent knowledge and experience with a variety of assessment techniques;
Demonstrated skill in Algonquin College’s preferred teaching competencies as set out in the Professor of the 21st Century document: http://www.algonquincollege.com/profres/;
Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners.
Salary range is $63,971 to $110,897 per annum, established in terms of relevant educational qualifications and experience.
