KSI Law is seeking a Paralegal for our Markham location to join our collection and debt recovery team. This position offers exposure to a wide range of recovery litigation, including bankruptcy and insolvency, secured and unsecured debt enforcement, fraud matters, and other civil litigation, providing an opportunity to develop expertise in various practice areas.
The ideal candidate will assist in providing legal support, preparing documents, and ensuring all legal matters are handled efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research to support clients and cases
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies
- Negotiate on behalf of clients to achieve favorable settlements
- Provide legal advice on various issues
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization
Qualifications
- Paralegal Diploma
- Admitted to the LSO
- Strong written communication skills, with an ability to write clearly and persuasively
- Proficient in legal drafting and research
- Experience with legal databases such as CLIO
