Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cake decorating and food presentation, with experience in the food industry. This role involves designing and decorating cakes for various occasions, ensuring each creation meets high standards of quality and aesthetics. The Cake Decorator will contribute to a welcoming customer experience by providing exceptional service and showcasing artistic skills in cake decoration.
Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and desserts according to customer specifications and company standards
- Prepare cakes through frosting, and assembling as needed
- Ensure all baked goods are handled following food safety and hygiene guidelines
- Package finished products securely for customer pickup
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and work area
- Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing design options and offering product recommendations
- Follow recipes and food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation within a bakery or restaurant environment
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping and creative design
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Excellent attention to detail and artistic ability
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- Kitchen experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
