The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Assistant of the CEO, the Marketing Intern will work in the Support Services office, as well as travel to various retail and donation Center locations and public markets throughout the summer. Team members in this position are expected to work effectively with others by maintaining positive, team-oriented relationships and presenting Goodwill in a positive manner to both employees and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Executive Assistant to the CEO, your key responsibilities will include:

Steering Goodwill Alberta’s Pop Up Shop tours for the summer of 2019
Gather items from Goodwill retail locations to sell in the shop
Coordinate and drive the Goodwill cube van to and from markets that will include packing for, travelling to, set up, selling of goods, take down and unpacking of the pop up shop.
Create a schedule for themed pop up shops that will market Goodwill merchandise to increase awareness of the benefits of shopping and donating with us.
Actively solicits sales revenue at each scheduled market
Plan budgets, sales goals, and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team
Promote our sustainability initiatives and the positive impact we have on landfill diversion.
Adhere to all company loss prevention policies and procedures.
Monitor key performance indicators on a regular and timely basis to show pop up shop success.

Successful candidates will:
Be currently enrolled in Post-Secondary education for Business (Marketing, Operations, Retailing) or Interior Decorating
Have previous experience working with the public
Have high energy and the drive to succeed and meet goals
Have world-class customer service skills
Be able to work in a team setting as well as alone in an unsupervised environment
Have excellent sales/persuasion skills
Have a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license with the ability to operate a Cube Van
