Job Summary
Trinity Lutheran Church Delta, We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Summer Camp Assistants to support our summer program for children in <LOCATION>. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and interested in early childhood education. The Summer Camp Assistant will help facilitate engaging activities, ensure a safe environment, and support the overall camp experience for young participants. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and youth development while making a positive impact on children's summer experiences.
Duties
- Assist lead instructors with planning and implementing educational and recreational activities tailored to children’s age groups.
- Support children during activities, ensuring their safety and engagement at all times.
- Help supervise children during free play, meals, and rest periods.
- Provide tutoring or teaching support as needed to reinforce learning concepts.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and fun.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming camp atmosphere.
- Support special event preparations and assist with daily camp operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children through tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is asset.
- Passion for working with children and creating engaging learning experiences.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for supporting children's development.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a secure environment for all participants.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a positive attitude toward teamwork. This role provides an enriching summer experience for both the Assistant and the children served, fostering growth in leadership, communication, and educational skills while contributing to a memorable summer camp environment.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
