Who We Are:
United Safety is the leading provider of specialized safety services to the energy resource industry. We are actively recruiting for both experienced and non-experienced Safety Watch for our upcoming Turnaround Season. Projects are scheduled to begin approximately March/April 2019 and all training will take place prior to the start date. Job Description:
Whether you are an experienced Safety Watch, have worked in general labour, have on- site experience, oil & gas experience, construction experience, have no-experience at all or are a college student you are welcome to apply and come to one of our information sessions!

A little bit about the job…

The Job Scope may include, but not be limited to, the following hazardous environment protection roles:

  • Confined space monitor (when work is performed inside vessels)
  • Fire watch (when hot work is being performed)
  • Bottle watch (when work performed is related to operating and attending breathing air supply equipment)
  • Gas monitoring (when work involves using electronic gas monitoring devices to assess air quality in work areas)
  • Safety monitoring for other activities can include but is not limited to: Blinding, Blanking, Valve Removal, Piping, etc., and Breathing Apparatus activities.
All project work takes place in an industrial plant or construction type setting. You should enjoy working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. While projects can be located near our operations centers, some work may take you away from home for extended periods of time.

The wage rate for the Safety Watch position is dependent on your experience.

Must Have:To be considered for this position you must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a Canadian work authorization
  • Be able to pass a Physical Demands Analysis and Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol test
  • Attend and successfully complete a 5-day Pre-Selection Training Session
In addition, it is preferred you have the following:
  • H2S Alive, Standard First Aid/CPR, CSTS and CSO (Common Safety Orientation) Tickets
  • A clean drivers abstract will be considered an asset
You are diligent, attentive and can work as an effective team player. You must be able to communicate clearly and calmly when faced with adverse situations.
