Reporting to the Director or designate, the Lead, Primary Care Initiatives supports Island Health's Primary Care Strategy by leading the collaborative development and implementation of new program, policy and procedures in support of primary care operations. The Lead works with a broad network of internal and external partners to develop critical primary care infrastructure to support safe and effective patient care in a range of primary care settings, including Island Health owned and operated sites, Patient Medical Homes, and Primary Care Network programs and sites.
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Leadership, or health-related field such as health sciences, nursing or medicine, or social sciences. Minimum five (5) years' experience working in a health care environment, preferably primary care and four (4) years' recent experience in strategic planning, community development or program development.
