Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Labourer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction trades, including carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, and concrete finishing. This role involves performing a variety of hands-on tasks to support construction projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial builds, with a focus on precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute project tasks accurately
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and tile laying to meet project specifications
- Perform carpentry tasks such as cabinet installation, framing, and general woodwork
- Conduct masonry work including bricklaying and concrete work as needed
- Support plumbing and electrical installations following technical drawings and safety protocols
- Execute caulking, painting, restoration work, and flooring installation to ensure high-quality finishes
- Estimate materials and labor requirements for assigned tasks in collaboration with project managers
- Maintain a clean and organized work site while adhering to safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, or concrete finishing
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction estimates effectively
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specialized trade skills (e.g., welding) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Physical stamina to perform demanding manual labor including lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions
- Valid <PERSON> (if applicable) or relevant certifications/licenses preferred but not mandatory
