International Medical Graduate (IMG) Physician – Medical Office Assistant & Clinical Support

Full-time or Part-time | $18–$23/hour depending on experience
We are a busy, physician-led family medical clinic looking for an International Medical Graduate (IMG) Physician who would like to join our team in a hybrid Medical Office Assistant / Clinical Support role.
This position would be an excellent fit for an IMG Physician who enjoys direct patient interaction and would like to remain closely involved in a clinical environment while gaining experience in the Canadian healthcare system.
Responsibilities may include:
- Patient check-in, scheduling, phones and general MOA duties
- Rooming patients and coordinating patient flow
- Taking and documenting vital signs, height and weight
- Updating medication lists and basic patient information
- Preparing examination and procedure rooms
- Assisting physicians with minor procedures and other clinical tasks within the scope of the position and under appropriate direction
- Preparing requisitions, referrals and forms
- Reviewing Netcare and managing EMR documentation
- Following up on referrals, investigations and outstanding administrative tasks as directed
- Supporting physician billing and other clinic operations
Ideal candidate:
- Medical degree obtained outside Canada (IMG)
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong medical knowledge and terminology
- Friendly, professional and comfortable interacting with patients
- Excellent computer and technology skills
- Organized, reliable, resourceful and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a busy family medicine environment
- Accuro EMR and Alberta Netcare experience are strong assets
- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada. We do not provide visa/PR support etc for this role.
Evening and weekend availability is an asset.
We are particularly interested in someone looking for a long-term position with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility as they become familiar with our clinic and the Alberta healthcare system.
