This position is a unique opportunity to work on a key priority for government, apply innovative problem solving to cross government challenges, and to work on a cross government project and connect with and learn about nearly every department. Our engagement efforts have also resulted in a large volume of data that requires analysis to help us better understand input from the public and stakeholders and drive government efforts. You will bring a solid understanding of policy, research, analysis, and data analysis to assist the Red Tape Reduction team with driving, tracking, and reporting on Government of Alberta regulatory excellence initiatives as well as engaging with cross department representatives by providing guidance and supporting engagement efforts.

You will impact the work of the Red Tape Reduction (RTR) Division through:
- Providing briefing materials, correspondence and written materials for different audiences.
- Directly working on key government initiatives related to red tap reduction.
- Supporting projects and strategic engagement related to regulatory management,
- Supporting a strong community of practice across the Government of Alberta.
You will support the Stakeholder Engagement Lead when communicating with other government partners on regulatory burden analysis and tracking and actively promote a culture of regulatory excellence when engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will show us your agility and ability when you provide options and recommendations in situations where problems and solutions may not be clearly evident or defined.
University graduation in a related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below.
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
This position performs professional research work that requires university graduation in a related area such as Political Science, Public Administration, or Economics. Theoretical knowledge is required in the area of research methodologies, data analysis, and program development.
- Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques, statistics, economics, and project planning.
- Excellent project management skills
- Program or policy research-oriented or related position experience would be useful.
- Proficiency and previous experience with SharePoint and CRM (Dynamics) would be an asset

$2,281.95 to $2,993.39 bi-weekly. ($59,558 to $78,127 annually)
This competition will be used to fill a number of current and future vacancies. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
This is a Temporary Salaried position is for a term of up to 12 months.
