We're a growing landscape construction company that believes the best work comes from a team that feels valued, stable, and invested in what they're doing. We're looking for a skilled and motivated Crew Lead to join us long-term, grow with the company, and help shape the culture we're proud of.
If you're someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and wants to be part of something bigger than just showing up for a paycheck, this is the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
On the construction side, you'll be hands-on every day. Supervising and working alongside crew members on hardscape and softscape installations including patios, walkways, retaining walls, planting, grading, and more. You'll plan daily tasks with the foreman, assign duties based on skill sets, and make sure materials and equipment are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
You'll be expected to read and understand project plans and scopes, think one step ahead, and keep production moving efficiently and accurately. When the foreman is off site, you step up.
You'll also play a key role in project startups: walking the site with the foreman and project manager, and staying on top of milestone and daily uploads throughout the project.
Quality and Production
You take pride in the finished product. You'll monitor progress, catch issues before they become problems, and hold yourself and your crew to a high standard. You understand material types, how to source and inspect them from suppliers, and what "done right" actually looks like.
Equipment and Site Ownership
You treat the truck, tools, and machines like they're yours, because in a lot of ways they are. That means daily circle checks on the dump truck, keeping equipment greased and clean, maintaining a stocked and organized toolbox, and planning the nightly unload and morning rollout without being asked. Ownership is the word.
Safety
Safety isn't a checklist, it's a mindset. You'll enforce PPE use, run regular site inspections, and make sure every team member understands the hazards and protocols before work begins. Any incidents get reported immediately, and you'll take action to make sure they don't happen again.
Leadership and Communication
You lead people, not just tasks. You'll give clear direction, keep the crew informed on progress and changes, and foster an environment where people want to show up and do good work. We're building a team where newer crew members have someone worth learning from — that's you.
What We Offer
We believe the people doing the work deserve to be paid well and treated right. At Cranbrooke, we're committed to offering stable, livable wages that reflect your experience and the value you bring. We're building a company where a career in landscape construction is something you can be proud of and sustain a life around.
In addition to competitive base pay, all crew leads are eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on project quality, productivity, and team contribution. We want you to share in the success you help create.
Our goal is long-term — we want the right people to grow with us, take on more responsibility over time, and be part of shaping what Cranbrooke becomes.
What You Bring
You've got real experience in landscape construction and know your way around hardscape installations, grading, and plant material. You can read a plan, run a crew, operate equipment safely, and communicate clearly with the people above and below you. You're physically capable of working hard in all conditions and you don't wait to be told what needs doing.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
