The District of Kent is offering an exciting opportunity in our Recreation / Culture & Projects Department for a Recreation Programmer.
This key role coordinates and participates in the direct programming of a variety of recreation programs and events at the Community Recreation & Cultural Centre (CRCC) and other community venues. The Recreation Programmer will plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a variety of recreation programs and special events including sports, recreation, fitness, arts, and cultural programming that reflect the requirements of the community and meet District policies and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A two (2) year Diploma/Degree in Recreation Leisure studies or related field;
- A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory and programming experience in a municipal recreation or community environment; and
- The ability to use computer software applications specific to recreation programming.
The 2024 post-probationary wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $36.48 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package.
