Position: Human Resources Manager
Location: 250 Rimrock Road, North York
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Permanent

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of HR, The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the delivery of HR programs and services in the areas of recruitment and retention, employee relations, training and development, benefits and legislative compliance. The HR Manager will contribute to the organization by building positive relationships throughout the business units and developing creative and innovative initiatives that are aligned with the company’s strategic direction.
Responsibilities:

Act as a resource for the Management Team by providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and knowledge to effectively manage people e.g., performance management, attendance management, discipline, disability claims, compensation, and benefit programs.

Identify and address issues that affect the overall health of the organization, morale, effectiveness, turnover, absenteeism, and productivity.

Provide direction and coaching to all levels of employees for HR related issues.

Discover new ways of attracting top talent by developing and maintaining partnerships and exploring other online recruitment tools, fostering a strong talent pipeline.

Facilitate the recruitment process with hiring managers to ensure the organization attracts and retains the best candidates for the positions.

Lead employee investigations and resolutions for all employee issues.

Work with line management to identify and resolve HR issues as they arise while promoting positive employee/management relations in carrying out day-to-day HR services and support.

Develop, recommend, and implement employee engagement strategies and initiatives.

Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and enquiries.

Perform specific research/investigation into HR operational issues, as requested.

Participate in regional talent reviews, succession planning and retention issues.

Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with labour and employment legislation and HR industry developments.

Support and manage organizational change.

Develop strong partnerships with all levels of internal and external business associates.

Support health and safety initiatives and best practices.

Provide direction and support to HR staff.

Create and provide reports as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned by HRD.
Skills and Knowledge:

Extensive working knowledge of relevant legislations to ensure compliance.

Experience managing business units of 200 employees or greater.

A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Strong computer skills including MS Office
Experience:
-
Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) in Human Resources
-
Successful completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional or Leader (CHRP/CHRL) designation

5+ years of progressive work experience in Human Resources management
-
Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email applications and HRIS systems
-
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is an asset
