As an Environmental I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with the cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, restocking supplies in bathroom facilities and, stripping linen and remaking beds. This includes replenishing cleaning supplies and linens and identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.

Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of previous experience performing environmental cleaning duties in a hospital or institution is required. Previous knowledge and application of WHMIS is required. Basic knowledge of computer programs, such as email, is required. Must be dependable, thorough and be able to work with minimal supervision. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, understand and follow written and oral directions in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
A combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered.
