Position Overview
PCS Management Inc. is seeking a precise, fast-paced CAD Technician. You will directly support surveying and engineering operations by converting field data and legacy paper documents into technical drawings.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field.
- Experience preparing survey plans from field survey data, including topographic, legal, and construction surveys.
- Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems, datums, and geodetic control networks.
- Ability to interpret survey field notes, total station data, GPS/GNSS data, and point cloud information.
- Familiarity with survey drafting standards and plan preparation requirements in Ontario.
- Experience working with Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, and survey databases is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of construction layout and as-built survey requirements for civil and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to perform calculations related to bearings, coordinates, elevations, and traverses.
- Experience coordinating with Ontario Land Surveyors, engineers, and field survey crews.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and draft survey deliverables using field data collected from total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, laser scanning, and conventional survey methods.
- Prepare topographic surveys, existing conditions plans, as-built drawings, grading plans, and construction layout drawings.
- Create and maintain survey control drawings and coordinate files for construction projects.
- Review survey data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency prior to drafting and final plan production.
- Coordinate with field crews to resolve discrepancies between survey data and existing records.
- Import, manage, and process survey point files, field codes, and coordinate databases.
- Support construction survey operations by preparing stakeout drawings and machine control models where required.
- Compile and organize survey records, control reports, and project documentation in accordance with company standards.
