What you will do?

You will lead the Millwright, Electrician and Calibration teams to ensure processing equipment is maintained for compliance, safety, optimum up-time and business continuity. You will schedule and oversee daily team(s) activities to ensure deadlines are being maintained. You will manage the development and performance of team members and continuously monitor areas to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety standards are met and adhered to.

Essential Functions:
Manage Team Performance

Communicate job expectations and lead daily team huddles. Prioritize Service Requests & planned work utilizing Maximo.
Verify the qualifications of personnel and recommend training as needed; ensure all personnel have been adequately trained on equipment and procedures and that proper documentation practices are followed
Plan, monitor and appraise job results
Conduct Performance Management Process (PMP) with staff
Lead Total Productive Maintenance initiatives

Maintain Regulatory Compliance:
Enforce regulations to ensure “license to operate”; processing equipment and systems are kept and operated in a GMP and statutory compliant state
Ensure all planned maintenance is according to the manufacturers’ recommendations and to an approved schedule
Prepare for and participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during regulatory audits
Manage the investigation process and ensure deviations are properly documented
Ensure CAPAs, deviations and follow up actions are completed within the required timeline.

Ensure Maximum Asset Availability and Optimization:
Ensure quality of work and that work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure equipment availability is adequate to meet the profit plan
Champion proactive maintenance vs. reactive maintenance
Collaborate with plant or production to ensure first-line maintenance is being performed by operators where applicable
Develop maintenance routines following the manufacturers’ recommendations
Maintain Documentation - Plant, Property and Equipment Asset

Prepare/Revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Participate in the change control process. Follow changes, reviewing drawings/documents and revising as necessary
Ensure plant logs and all Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data collected is accurate and complete
Project Work

Scheduling/monitoring/coordinating project work
Directing external contractors
How will you get there?

Minimum Bachelor of Engineering or Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent
Minimum five years experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory/leadership role
Licensed tradesman in either of the following disciplines: Millwright, Electrical
Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Experience in operating a 24/7 operation
Excellent communication skills as well as proven interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMMS
Data analysis, problem definition & solving skills. Sound judgment, decision making and trouble shooting skills
Knowledgeable in specific root-cause analysts and predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography and infrared tools and techniques, lubrication, machinery alignment, etc.)
Proficiency with the English language
Six Sigma or Lean experience is a plus
Experience in the use of tools such as FMEA/FMECA, Cause Mapping and Ishikawa charts etc.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
