Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced financial and business analyst who welcomes the challenge of building and integrating data systems that contribute to upholding Aurum’s position as a leader in the growing and rapidly evolving dental industry. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can be a strategic contributor while working in a dynamic and challenging role.
Job Description
· Work closely with the senior finance and accounting team to build, maintain and integrate data from various systems into effective analytics and accurate financial reporting
· Develop, track and evaluate key performance indicators which align with the firm’s corporate objectives
· Identify and drive process improvements through the creation of standard and ad-hoc tools, including automated reports and dashboards
· Guide the cost and revenue analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures and conducting internal and external comparative analyses
· Develop detailed financial models to support valuation, forecasting, and aid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes
· Evaluate investment and capital allocation decisions through the use of multiple techniques including DCF, market comparable and strategic analysis
· Assist in the evaluation of strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings
· Research industry trends and compile market data to make cohesive recommendations
· Prepare presentations for and make recommendations to senior management and executives
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of analysis tools and market conditions
Preferred Qualifications
· 3-5+ years of accounting, research, finance or other relevant corporate experience
· Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or statistics
· MBA/CPA/CFA/CBV/FMVA considered an asset
· Advanced knowledge of ExcelTM and PowerPointTM
· PowerBITM / Power QueryTM, VBATM or other relevant database management and computer programing skills considered an asset
· Familiarity evaluating company filings and conducting third-party financial statement analysis
· Strong analytical competency and proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role
· Preference will be given to candidates with meaningful corporate finance, management accounting, investment banking or sell-side research experience
