This is a critical skill we are hiring for. We are not able to consider someone for this role who has only fleet coordination experience, without Load Sourcing experience.**
We are hiring a Dispatcher to handle the day-to-day Load Sourcing and Dispatching for our growing flatbed fleet.
This role will be responsible for Sourcing Loads, negotiating rates, coordinating drivers, dispatch operations, and equipment utilization.
We are looking for a highly organized and operationally minded individual who can take ownership of Open-Deck fleet execution and day-to-day asset Open-Deck operations.
We are open to candidates based in Winnipeg MB or Edmonton AB.
Key Responsibilities
- Source freight and coordinate daily dispatch activities for open-deck legal & oversize freight.
- Negotiate rates with brokers and clients
- Build relationships with Freight Brokers and Clients to negotiate the best rates and source freight
- Maximize truck utilization and loaded miles
- Coordinate schedules and routing for company drivers and owner-operators
- Communicate with customers, brokers, dispatchers, and drivers regarding load status and service requirements
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues and service disruptions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and owner-operators
- Address operational concerns and performance issues as required
- Help build a culture of professionalism, accountability, and customer service
- Work closely with ownership and the Safety & Compliance Manager to support company growth
Qualifications
- Experience with LoadLink and load sourcing for an asset-based company
- Previous experience in flatbed trucking, transportation, logistics, dispatch, or fleet management
- Strong understanding of truckload operations
- Experience managing drivers and owner-operators is considered a strong asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to think critically and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with transportation management systems and dispatch software
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
