Professional Driver
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for transporting goods to customers in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate should have a valid driver's license, 3 years of truck driving experience in Canada, a clean driving record, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, load and unload items from the delivery truck
- Safely deliver goods to customers adhering to all traffic laws, safety procedures and regulations
- Ensure items are secure and protected during transit
- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries
- Maintain the delivery vehicle in good working condition and report any maintenance issues to management
- Perform daily pre-trip inspection of the delivery vehicle
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Continually work to improve the overall customer experience
- Resolve issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner, including customer concerns and customer service issues
- Collaborate with other people and departments in the organization to resolve issues and find workable solutions
- Communicate any delivery concerns or issues on a timely basis
- Understand, implement, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records and report any accidents or incidents
- Other duties as required
- Requirements
- Delivery experience is an asset
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 only is needed) ~ Graduated is NOT sufficient
- Current Driver’s Abstract (no more than 2 moving violations in the past 12 months)
- Ability to lift and carry heavy merchandise exceeding 50 lbs on a regular basis
- High school diploma or equivalent would be an asset
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required
- Loading the delivery vehicle from a staging area
