This is not a large corporate owned production facility, assembly line or factory. We are a small local company that is family owned and we operate a small scale production location where we produce locally made raw and natural pet foods, treats and supplements.
We are looking for mature, reliable and dedicated individual(s) to join our small team. Our ideal candidate would be a hard working and outgoing individual who is a team player and strives for customer satisfaction. Someone who has prior experience working in a production type setting who is motivated to work hard and communicate well with their teammates. It important to us that all members of our team feel a sense of responsibility towards the goals, mission, and vision of Furball's Choice in the quality products and high standards of service we provide our customers.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Stocking, organizing, inventory of frozen and raw products.
- Handling raw meats, utilizing meat manufacturing equipment, weighing, and packaging pet food products.
- Inspecting products for quality and consistency.
- Follow duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and its regulations.
- Perform regular sanitation of equipment and workspace.
- Business hours are 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 4pm Saturday & Sunday.
- Must be available to work 8 hour shifts
What we’re looking for in this position:
- You must be an animal lover as you'll be regularly coming into contact with our clients (and their owners).
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work. This position requires the use of your vehicle to complete local raw food deliveries once per week in the Quinte West area.
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluent English.
- Pallet transport, sort, cut and handle raw meat products.
- General knowledge of a commercial dehydrator and packing techniques is an asset.
- Able to withstand commercial walk-in freezer and cooler temperatures.
- Ability to use heavy duty equipment and machinery for pet food production.
- Perform packing, weighing and sorting activities during production.
- Perform quality assurance during the process and for the finished product.
- Able to lift up-to 75lbs.
- Must uphold health & safety standards and maintain a safe and clean/sanitary work environment.
- Ability to confidently work in a team oriented environment.
- Forklift License is an asset

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
