We are currently hiring a Trailer Shop Supervisor to supervise repair and maintenance operation activities to ensure proper repair, safety, and performance of trailers.
What you will do:
- Manage a team of professional garage maintenance personnel by providing strong leadership and guidance.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety related meetings to ensure safe work practices, injury prevention, and occupational health & safety protocols.
- Work with Human Resources to adhere to and promote policy and procedures for a safe and engaging work environment.
- Review and inquire on type of repairs being carried out along with proper parts replacement if needed for equipment for all-in hour and sublet repairs.
- Report on the status of repairs and in-service time for trailers to the operations group on a daily basis.
- Work with suppliers on technical issues to resolve downtime.
- Schedule garage personnel and workloads to maximize efficiency and provide adequate support to the business.
- Check history for rework or warranty from previous repairs for all trailers.
- Provide guidance and direction to staff members assigned to Fleet Maintenance.
- Prioritize work order and assign appropriate shop staff.
- Ensure high quality of conduct and workmanship from Technicians and Apprentices.
- Maintain vehicle records and repair data in the fleet management software program.

Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- A high volume of customer, terminal, and agent communication via email and phone.
- Shift - Monday to Friday 8-5pm with evening and weekend support to the team as necessary
Education and Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry-related experience
- Completion of college/vocational school or technical training
- Class A Mechanic’s License as asset but not essential
- Red Seal Certification as asset but not essential.
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Technical Skills:
- Experience and understanding of the TruckMate System and RTA is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to prepare reports in Word and Excel.
- Strong typing and computer skills.
