Due to rapid growth and expansion, PBX Truck Service is looking for experienced level two (2) or above heavy duty mechanics.
Description: Heavy-Duty Mechanics perform a variety of tasks on heavy-duty trucks and heavy-duty equipment. They inspect, diagnose and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions and other related mechanical components of heavy-duty machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Must be punctual.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major assemblies; sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, adjusting and aligning bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
- Adhere to all workplace safety and health programs and policies.
- Maintain a detailed description of diagnostic conclusions, repairs performed, parts removed for access and post repair tests to ensure proper performance of repair.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 2 Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Apprentice
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum 3-4 years experience working on engines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to operate required tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Technically inclined with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment operation problems using computerized and traditional diagnostic methods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Class 1 drivers license is considered as an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $27.00-$40.00 per hour
