We are currently hiring on behalf of our client, a leading North American transportation and logistics provider, to find 6 skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operators to join their busy terminal hub in Woodbridge.
You will be responsible for the efficient movement of freight, ensuring that shipments are handled with care and meet strict delivery deadlines. This role requires a blend of physical stamina, precision operating, and comfort with digital tracking tools.
Your day will be highly active, spent primarily on your machine cross-docking freight, unloading incoming trailers, and staging pallets for outbound routes. You will frequently step off the lift to manually verify shipping labels, scan barcodes into the system, and handle individual shipments up to 75lbs. You'll be collaborating closely with team members to keep the freight moving safely and on schedule.
Shift Schedules Available:
- Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a propane-powered forklift unit to load, unload, and stage trailers.
- Move, stack, and handle heavy shipments and pallets up to 75lbs.
- Accurately scan inbound and outbound shipments into the tracking system.
- Read and verify destinations on pallets and parcel containers to ensure routing accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Certification: Must possess a valid, accredited Forklift Certificate (counterbalance).
- Experience: Proven experience safely operating propane-powered forklift units.
- Physical: Ability to lift/handle up to 75lbs and work comfortably in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using scanning technology and Google applications (Drive, Docs).
- Reliability: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required
- CSA approved Steel Toe Safety Shoes
