The Canadian National Office of KPMG (located in Toronto) is looking for a Contract Manager for a 12-month secondment to the Contracts Group of the Office of General Counsel (OGC). The Contracts Group oversees KPMG’s contracting needs across Canada. This is a challenging and interesting role will involve being both hands-on and highly strategic, working directly with partners, influencing, and making recommendations on how to best proceed with contracts in accordance with KPMG policies and procedures.

What you will do:
Deliver a customer-centric approach to the business, anticipating their needs and projecting a ‘how can I help you’ attitude.
Support and guide engagement teams across Canada (audit, advisory, tax) on the review, negotiation and drafting of standard engagement contracts, including routine variations to standard terms and conditions as guided by playbooks, policy and procedure.
Advise engagement teams on RFP proposals, including interpreting RFP requirements and reviewing (as guided by playbooks, policy and procedure) proposed contractual terms and conditions against KPMG standards.
Review and negotiate NDAs, including joinders.
Work with procurement and other business teams on a variety of lower complexity supply and services contracts with KPMG’s suppliers/vendors, including advising on contract lifecycle and compliance requirements.
Assist in the management of the contract intake system.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding risk management, privacy, litigation, insurance, and IT security, in connection with commercial contracting.
Supporting legal counsel members of the Contracts team on complex contracting matters.
What you bring to this role:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
IACCM certification and/or Paralegal or Law Clerk designation is an asset.
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
Experience within a professional services organization is an asset.
5+ years contract management and contract negotiations experience in procurement or with an in-house legal team.
Experience working directly with management or senior level executives.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
Critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
