Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricators for our Day shift and Afternoon shifts with expertise in working with both mild steel and stainless steel materials to join our team. As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, fabricating components, and assembling structures using various fabrication techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience operating machinery such as welders, grinders, and cutting torches to shape and join materials accurately. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work are essential for this role. Additionally, a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are required. Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, follows specifications such as weld symbols, machine allowances and drawing notes to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Perform close tolerance layouts to meet print specifications.
- Clean and prepare parts before welding, including weld prep.
- Set up and operate welding equipment to weld, repair, join or fabricate parts by working with blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.
- Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Drilling and tapping and other minor machining functions.
- Assist in training less experienced employees in set-up and quality production standards.
- Move material with appropriate equipment throughout the work area as needed.
- Complete standard job sheets for each job.
- Report any discrepancies in material to Supervisors/Management.
- Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Qualifications
- Inter-provincial Red Seal ticket in Fabrication- Preferred
- 7 years fabricating experience in a project manufacturing environment
- Valid forklift and overhead crane certification or ability to attain certification
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints
- Trade math structural fabrication
- Plate fabrication material preparation and finishing
- Material Handling
- Excellent English communication skills – verbal and written
- Time management and organization
- First Aid ticket an asset

Physical Demands
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

- A full range of physical dexterity is required for this position including bending, lifting, twisting, pulling, pushing, crawling, crouching, stooping and reaching overhead with hands and arms.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
