CMW Professional Corporation is a well-established accounting firm, known for delivering a comprehensive suite of services to our valued clients, including accounting, tax, and bookkeeping. Our unwavering commitment to high-quality client service sets us apart in the City of Airdrie, Alberta. We are currently seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public practice accounting, take the lead on compilation engagements, and play a key role in personal tax matters during the tax season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Compilation Engagements, including completion of all working papers, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements in accordance with firm standards.
- Complete Personal and Corporate Tax Returns, and T4 and T5 tax slips.
- Bookkeeping and client support in the following bookkeeping programs: Sage, QuickBooks desktop and online, including A/R, A/P, Bank Reconciliations, CRA program account reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
- Communication with our clients, government agencies, partners, and team members.
- Collaborate and work effectively with fellow team members.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in future assignments and share this knowledge and experience with other team members.
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public practice.
- Proficiency with Caseware, Jazzit, MS Office, and personal tax software (Cantax, Profile, Tax Prep, etc.).
- Working knowledge of one or more bookkeeping software (QuickBooks online or desktop, Sage etc.).
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with multiple clients with diverse and evolving needs.
