Overview
We are hiring a part-time English tutor to provide in-home, one-to-one lessons to a beginner-level adult learner with an intellectual disability. Sessions are held twice a week in the learner's home.
Duties
- Plan and deliver beginner-level English lessons
- Reinforce vocabulary and core language concepts
- Use structure and repetition suited to the learner's needs
- Provide brief progress updates to the family
Requirements
- Experience teaching beginner-level ESL
- Experience working with learners who have additional or complex needs, including mental health conditions
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in English, TESL, or a related field preferred
- Patient, reliable, and comfortable working one-to-one in a home setting
- Arabic language proficiency an asset
Compensation & Details
- 20$ to 30$/hour CAD
- 2 sessions/week; schedule to be discussed, upon availability
- Location: Surrey, BC
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
