Fleet Technician – Motorcoach Fleet
Paradigm Charter Bus Lines is a growing, family-owned transportation company operating a professional fleet of motorcoaches throughout Saskatchewan and Western Canada. We are currently seeking a Fleet Technician to work alongside our experienced mechanic and assist with the day-to-day maintenance, servicing, diagnosis, and repair of our motorcoach fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build their experience in the commercial transportation industry and work on a diverse fleet of large vehicles.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with our mechanic and assist with a variety of daily maintenance and repair functions, including:
- Performing regular preventative maintenance and servicing on motorcoaches
- Assisting with mechanical diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Assisting with repairs and component replacement
- Conducting inspections and identifying potential mechanical issues
- Assisting with brake, suspension, steering, electrical, HVAC, and other vehicle systems
- Performing routine oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and other maintenance
- Assisting with preparing vehicles for provincial safety inspections
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records
- Keeping the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Assisting with emergency or roadside repairs when required
- Following all company safety procedures and applicable transportation regulations
- Performing other duties related to fleet maintenance as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working on heavy-duty vehicles, buses, trucks, or automotive equipment is considered an asset
- Heavy-Duty Mechanic schooling, apprenticeship experience, or related technical training is preferred but not mandatory.
- A combination of hands-on experience and formal technical education is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and work through repairs efficiently
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Valid driver's licence
- Air Endorsement is preferred
- Previous motorcoach or commercial vehicle experience is an asset, but not required
The right candidate will be considered even if they do not have extensive experience. We are willing to train and develop an individual who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine interest in learning.
Compensation
$30.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, qualifications, and skill level. With opportunities for advancement.
