Motor Coach Industries (MCI)an industry leader in Charter and Luxury Touring Coaches, is seeking a Commodity Manager to join our team. As the market leader, MCI designs, manufactures and markets coaches for tour, line haul, transit and conversion uses. SUMMARY

Lead, develop, implement and gain cross-functional alignment of Global Commodity Strategies for key MCI commodities. Drive Global Commodity Strategies with an emphasis on a Sustainable Supply of Goods, Cost Reductions, partnering with quality-minded Suppliers, Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Rationalization Strategies and Total Cost Of Ownership (TCO) that adds value to MCI and its Shareholders.

Principle Accountabilities

Technologies that support MCI’s Reliability Driven™ brand and product leadership position and results in Procurement being a competitive advantage.
Work closely with Supplier Development Team to ensure MCI is collaborating with quality-minded Suppliers that are capable of meeting MCI’s quality expectations.
Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams (Operations, Production Control/Planning, Engineering, Quality, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Parts), for supplier selection.
Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management and global commodity strategies that leverage MCI’s spend with a focus on TCO.
Lead “knowledge based negotiations” in the execution of Long-Term Agreements and Supplier contracts Conduct Commodity Benchmarking via thorough understanding of benchmarking data and key commodity cost drivers.
Track and communicate global commodity industry trends, competitive strategies, economic factors and opportunities in the global market place.
Monitor and report compliance to commodity contracts and strategies.
Ensure adherence to Supplier Price Increase Request Procedure to help mitigate negative PPV and maximize net supplier cost reductions.
Meet or exceed Budgeted/Forecasted Supplier Cost Reductions across MCI spend.
Develop Cost Models to understand cost as a means of identifying and driving cost reduction opportunities that ensure cost competitiveness in pursuit of new business opportunities and current production cost reductions.

Identify Cost Reduction opportunities based on:
1. Benchmarking data base and key cost driver analysis

2. Supplier capacity analysis

3. VA/VE product/process improvements

4. Implementation of new technologies

5. Commodity market trends

Ownership of: Non-Disclosure Agreements, Negotiations, LTA’s, and Sustainable Cost Reductions.
Understand Supply Chain structure, Financial strength, Manufacturing/Engineering capabilities, capacity, and overall Supplier strengths and weaknesses
Manage High Risk/High Dependency Suppliers by creating and executing action plans to reduce exposure to financially stressed and/or high dependency Suppliers (Supplier Risk Management).
Own Buy America compliance from each of assigned suppliers/commodities
Qualifications/Requirements

Excellent supplier relationship management skills.
Highly effective at communicating commodity strategies; possesses ability to gain organizational buy-in.
Proven results in sustainable Supplier Cost Reductions.
Demonstrated excellent Supplier negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong personal work ethic and standards.
Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently.
Excellent communication skills – position interacts with all levels of MCI Management.
Proven commodity strategy development and execution experience required.
Familiar with basic accounting principles.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel as well as Word, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes
Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline
MBA and/or, Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) will be an asset
5+ years Procurement experience; preferably in Automotive, Aerospace or Commercial Vehicle industries
