The Occupational Therapist (OT) reporting directly to the Director of Care is a key member of the interprofessional health care team, responsible for providing client-centered assessment, intervention, and care planning across rehabilitation, recovery, and continuing care units.
This role focuses on supporting clients living in continuing care who experience isolation, or low stimulation during late afternoon and evening hours. Working collaboratively with Recreation Therapy and other members of the interdisciplinary team contributes to enhancing residents’ emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well-being through integrated therapeutic programming.
The position emphasizes maximizing safe, functional independence and improving quality of life through individualized and interdisciplinary interventions. In addition, the Occupational Therapist plays an active role in the planning, development, and sustainability of the program initiatives contributing to evaluation, continuous improvement, and the establishment of consistent, meaningful evening programming and activities.
